How the classic game fits together
The fixed line layout makes the base game easy to follow. Most of the changing action comes from Horus and the feature’s tablet sequence.
Fixed lines and a changing feature#
The classic game keeps the same five-reel, three-row layout from spin to spin. Its ten winning paths cover different positions across that grid. A cluster of identical symbols becomes a line win when it follows one of those paths from the first reel. The highlighted result is useful when learning a diagonal or zigzag line.
Horus gives that layout its main visual change. An expanded wild can contribute to more than one line because it occupies all three positions on its reel. Its role is substitution for ordinary symbols; the temple scatters are counted separately. This distinction helps explain why a large wild on screen and a free-spin trigger are different events.
For a closer look at how that structure feels as a game choice, read the Eye of Horus review. It compares the straightforward base game with the progression inside the feature.
Follow the tablets, then the spin counter#
During the free-spin round, two displays matter. The tablet sequence shows which premium symbols have been upgraded, while the spin counter shows how much of the round remains. A Horus appearance can affect both. Watching only the counter misses the change in the symbols that can form later wins.
The upgrades follow the order shown above the reels. Fans lead into ankhs, then scarabs, winged falcons, Anubis and the Eye. As the progression advances, the higher-paying symbol replaces the relevant lower premium symbol. A completed upgrade describes the feature’s current symbol treatment; each spin still needs a winning combination to produce a payout.
Use the paytable with the stake display#
The ordinary-symbol table below gives multipliers of the stake on one winning line. All ten paylines stay active, so a total bet of 2.00 gives a line bet of 0.20. Three scarabs on a winning line have a table value of 20: at that line bet, the award is 20 × 0.20 = 4.00 in the game’s currency. This calculation applies to that line, while the total stake covers all ten lines.
The game pays the highest combination on each line and adds awards across winning lines. Bonus scatters follow their own screen-wide rule: count them anywhere on the reels and read their award in the active game’s scatter paytable. Three or more Bonus symbols also trigger 12 free spins. The line-win multipliers below apply to the ordinary symbols listed in the table.

Choose the complete game title#
Eye of Horus is also a family of related releases. The classic game uses ten lines; Eye of Horus Megaways uses a variable ways system. Jackpot King adds a progressive pot system to a separately named edition. Select the full title before comparing its RTP or learning its feature rules.
The Megaways demo covers the six-reel version. For the original layout, use the classic free play. Both explain what to look for in the game screen, with the rules kept specific to each edition.
